Run for Health Brings Fitness, Healthcare, and Community Services to Molo Plaza
The event combined running, accessible health services, pet care, food, medicines, and other runner benefits in one meaningful morning dedicated to promoting a healthier and more active community.
A Community Run for All Ages
Run for Health featured three race categories designed for participants of different ages, interests, and fitness levels.
The 5-kilometer run provided a challenge for experienced and recreational runners, while the 3-kilometer run offered a more accessible distance for beginners, families, and community members.
Pet owners also joined the 1-kilometer pet run, giving them an opportunity to exercise and enjoy the event together with their beloved pets. The pet run added a fun and heartwarming element to the morning as participants made their way around the beautiful and historic Molo Plaza.
Local Leaders Show Their Support
The event was made even more memorable by the visit of Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas, who showed her support for the community’s health, fitness, and wellness initiatives.
Councilor Sedfrey Cabaluna also actively participated by joining the run, demonstrating his support for an active lifestyle and community-based health programs.
Their presence encouraged the participants and highlighted the importance of collaboration between local government, healthcare organizations, and the community in promoting better health.
PhilHealth YAKAP Account Assistance
After the run, PhilHealth set up an assistance booth where citizens could receive help in opening or accessing their YAKAP accounts.
PhilHealth representatives guided participants through the registration process and provided information about available primary healthcare services and benefits.
By bringing the service directly to Molo Plaza, community members were able to participate in a fitness activity while also accessing important healthcare assistance in one convenient location.
Free Pet Consultations From the City Veterinarian’s Office
The Iloilo City Veterinarian’s Office also supported the event by offering free pet consultations.
Pet owners were able to ask questions about their pets’ health, proper nutrition, vaccination, hygiene, and general care. The service complemented the 1-kilometer pet run and helped promote responsible pet ownership throughout the community.
Food, Medicines, and Other Runner Perks
Participants received several benefits after completing their chosen race distance. Runners enjoyed food, refreshments, medicines, and other items provided by the organizers, sponsors, and event partners.
These runner perks added to the festive atmosphere and gave participants an opportunity to recover, socialize, and enjoy the community celebration after crossing the finish line.
Promoting a Healthier Molo Community
Run for Health was more than a running event. It brought together physical activity, healthcare assistance, responsible pet ownership, and community involvement in one accessible program.
Through the partnership with the Molo District Health Board and the support of PhilHealth, the Iloilo City Veterinarian’s Office, local government officials, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, the event successfully encouraged citizens to take an active role in caring for their health and well-being.
Thank you to Mayor Raisa Treñas, Councilor Sedfrey Cabaluna, our partners, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who joined the 5-kilometer run, 3-kilometer run, and 1-kilometer pet run.
Together, we ran for fitness, wellness, and a healthier community at Run for Health 2026.
